Throughout 2024, Unity Distribution Portal (UDP), the alternative app store publishing assistant owned by Unity Technologies, will no longer support app submissions to Uptodown. In order to continue managing all the games already published in the marketplace, you will need to access our admin panel, from which you can continue to send updates, view statistics and receive personalized help.
How to enable a UDP account in Uptodown Developers Console
All UDP-registered email accounts that have previously submitted apps to Uptodown already have an existing account associated with their profile. To receive the access credentials, please follow these steps:
- Go to the password recovery menu (https://developers.uptodown.com/3.0/#/recover-password) and enter the same email account used in the past to manage the games published from UDP.
- Click on the confirmation button present in the e-mail message that will be automatically sent to the chosen account and generate a new password.
- Open the Developers Console main access menu (https://developers.uptodown.com/) and enter the newly generated credentials.
Publishing and monetizing games on Uptodown
One of the main benefits of publishing directly on Uptodown is that we do not impose the use of any SDK, integration or payment system. Developers can freely choose how to monetize their games and get 100% of the profits from advertising or in-app purchases.
- IAPs: Since one of the requirements to use UDP was to integrate their SDK, we recommend updating the apps already published on Uptodown as soon as possible with a new release that does not utilize it —the previous in-app purchase system used with payment gateway will soon cease to work. You are free to use any third-party solutions, such as RevenueCat, Adapty, Qonversion, XSolla or Glassfy. However, we do suggest keeping purchases from relying exclusively on proprietary services that require external credentials, such as Google Pay.
- Integrated advertising services and ads: We do not impose any restrictions when it comes to published games including ads from any network or platform, as long as they are trusted by the users. We accept the use of services such as Admob, Ironsource or Applovin.
- Packagename and versioncode: From Uptodown we recommend always using the same packagename in all stores to maximize game compatibility. Since most of Uptodown's traffic is organic, users might try to download an update for a game already installed on their device, only to find that it is not compatible because it has a different packagename. Thus, to track a game in various stores, we recommend integrating an installation tracking system and distinguish among stores with a different versioncode (preferably higher) than the one used in the rest.
