The official Uptodown app for Android includes a rollback wizard that simplifies installing older versions of apps already on your device. Uptodown stores previous versions of apps in its catalog, and this tool leverages that functionality to streamline the uninstall and reinstall process.
Steps to follow:
- In the app's user menu, select the option Rollback.
- Choose the app you want to revert from the list of installed apps.
- A list of all available previous versions will appear. To download one, tap the icon with the arrow and box. To view the security report for a file, tap the blue shield icon.
- Once the desired version is downloaded, a new green button will appear. Pressing it will show a warning advising you to back up any information associated with the app. This is important because not all apps automatically sync their settings or profile data to the cloud. After confirming everything is ready, tap "Accept".
- The app will then ask if you want to uninstall the current version. Accept, and once the uninstallation is complete, you'll be prompted to install the selected version. After the process finishes, the app will be ready to use.
