If you are the author or hold the distribution rights to an app already published on Uptodown, you can take control of it. By doing so, you can personally manage the delivery of new updates, obtain download statistics, and access our support service.
To claim authorship of an app, you need to register a new user account in our Developer Console, preferably with the same email address used in other app stores or, alternatively, appearing on the app's official website or its official social media (if any). This registration is completely free of charge.
Once the account has been created, there are several options available to confirm authorship:
-
- Automatic detection in Google Play: by clicking on the Claim Ownership button, our system will detect if the email address used for registration also appears as a contact account on Google's official marketplace app catalog. If there is a match, you can automatically and immediately claim authorship upon receiving an email confirmation.
-
- Confirmation via official email account: send an email to support@uptodown.zendesk.com with an email account listed on the app's official website, social media or within the app itself. Email accounts from the same domain (e.g. <name>@<company>.com) will also be approved in certain situations.
- Sending a legal document: use our support form to contact our team, choose Claim and attach a legal document that certifies that the owner of the registered account is responsible for the publication of the app.
In case of manual confirmation (email or legal document), you'll need to specify the exact name (packagename if Android) and the Uptodown URL of all the apps you wish to claim.
Once the request is placed, our support team will analyze the claim and proceed to grant authorship if the requirements are met. Please, keep in mind that there is no processing time limit. After receiving a confirmation notification, you will be able to access the Developer Console and see your app listed under the Apps section.
